If you want to get adventurous, try out one of the kayaks or paddle boards and test your skills on the water while exploring the beautiful sandbar!
We provide water, soda, light snacks. You may bring anything to eat or drink on the boat. No glass or hard alcohol will be permitted aboard.
We start all check-ins 30 minutes prior to departure. You must be at the dock no later than 15 minutes before check-in or we may not allow you on the charter and no refund will be given.

Yes. The Marathon Mermaid has a large shaded area and comfortable cushioned seating, so you can get out of the sun any time during the cruise.

Such a fun day on the ocean with Captain Dawn and Katie. They were friendly and entertaining. Swimming at the sand bar was awesome. Everything from pool noodles, kayaks, snacks, drinks. Highly recommend it for a lot of fun!!!
This is the 2nd time we went on the sand bar cruise with Marathon Mermaid, each time with a different captain (first Mike and most recently Booker). Both were great! Great experiences and we will continue to go out with the Marathon Mermaid on future trips.
The boat was very comfortable and plenty of shade. Crew was great. We choose this excursion so we could get in the blue water to enjoy the sand bar. Very glad we did. The scenery was beautiful, we met some nice people and had fun. Timing of trip was very good. Glad that we had enough time in water and didn't feel rushed. The day was finished off with a smooth ride back to dock. Enjoyed our day. I would recommend.
Marathon Mermaids was a great experience for our family. We went for the Sandbar excursion which was around 4 hours. A 40 min boat ride to the sand bar with great views along the way. The water was so clear and great for snorkeling and swimming. Captain Doug and first mate Jimmy were so nice and helpful. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Marathon.
As a business owner myself, I appreciate a well run company. This one is the best! They are friendly, courteous, professional, and easy to work with. Highly highly recommend! Their captains and first mates are also all very friendly and nice to get to know.
Our family of four had a wonderful day with Captain Kinsey and First Mate Orion on the Marathon Mermaid sandbar trip. The boat itself was comfortable, with plenty of shade if you wanted it and sun if you didn't. The ride out to the sandbar was smooth and relaxing. There were 40 passengers but somehow it felt like a lot less and like we were all in it together.
