Marathon Mermaid and Morada Mermaid began with one dream and a deep love for the waters of the Florida Keys. What started with a single custom boat in Marathon has grown into a Mermaid family with two iconic Keys destinations, and through all of it we have stayed exactly what we set out to be: locally owned, family operated and grateful for every guest who spends part of their vacation on the water with us.

Hello! Welcome to the Marathon Mermaid! Having a Marathon Florida Boat Tour company has been a dream of Angela’s for years, and she made it a reality! Angela, from California, moved to the Florida Keys in 2013 to follow her passion for scuba diving after becoming a professional Dive Master in Roatan, Honduras. She became a scuba instructor after moving to the Keys and dreamed of owning her own charter boat.
Skip forward a few years and she started to work on that dream. Her passion for the ocean and desire to share the beautiful waters of the Keys that she had fallen in love with inspired her to create something one of a kind: a boat built for the way we love to experience the Keys, on the water, with the people we care about.
Built from the ground up, she is truly a one-of-a-kind vessel, designed by Angela herself and custom built right here in Marathon. Drawing from her professional experience working on boats around the world and her own love of life on the water, Angela dreamed up a vessel that exceeded every expectation. From day one, she has carried guests to Sombrero Reef, the local sandbar, and beneath the Seven Mile Bridge at sunset, creating unforgettable memories of their time in the Florida Keys.
As more guests found us, our dream grew. We welcomed Morada Mermaid, the newest member of the Mermaid family, running snorkeling, sandbar days and sunset cruises from Islamorada. Now our guests can explore two beautiful parts of the Florida Keys with one local family: Marathon and Sombrero Reef with Marathon Mermaid, then the legendary waters of Islamorada and Alligator Reef with Morada Mermaid.
Marathon Mermaid and Morada Mermaid aren’t part of a large corporate tour company. We’re a locally owned and family-operated Florida Keys business built around our love of the ocean and the communities we call home. But as we’ve grown, what matters most to us hasn’t changed. We’re still local. We’re still family operated. And we’re still incredibly grateful every time someone chooses to spend part of their Florida Keys vacation with us.
When you step aboard either Mermaid, you’re more than just a passenger. You’re our guest, and our goal is to give you the kind of day on the water that makes you understand why we love living here.
